Default poker and alcohol

I have been thinking about this for a while, wondering what other people's views are. I for one don't think the two mix well at all, but let's see:

Do you drink while playing poker?

Excellent point. A once-yearly trip to a low-lim game for some drunken, uber-maniacal play can be excellent therapy.

Moderate to heavy drinking ruins my limit hold'em game, but seems to improve my NL game quite a bit. If I were more serious about poker I suppose I could try to figure out how to play NL like I'm drunk even when I'm sober.

I only drink while I'm playing the 4/8 mini-blind game at Mandalay Bay.

Recreational drinking is starting to pull ahead in the tally! Who would have thought?! I can hold my alcohol ok, but when money's on the line, man, I figure why take the chance...

Your poll is ass, because there's not an option like, "2-4 hold'em is easy and I can play it drunk or sober" or "Screw one stiff drink, I drink the whole time I'm playing" or, "I can hold my liqour and it makes me look like a nut, so I pound 'em."

I would choose one of these three.

There's a difference between "money" and "MONEY." Drunken low-stakes can be a blast. Drunken mid- to high-stakes will leave you, and your bankroll, with a nasty hangover.

To echo another poster, the last time I played really lit was in the Mandalay Bay 4-8 against some complete novices. I was hammered, and I still managed to eke out a profit I had no business winning....

when im playing a home game with a bunch of buds i drink. i also play looser for fun. we usually pitch in 20 bucks a piece, hand out an equal amount of chips, and pay 1st,2nd 3rd. its very little money and done for the social aspect.

when i goto the casino or play online i dont drink(except one to calm my nerves at the beginning. i play tight and i dont talk near as much. its business.
