Default Betting when possible draw completes on 5th street?

I have been trying to figure out the best approach to this for a while. Say you have a good hand preflop and you raise with it. You get a couple callers then the flop comes. Its a good flop for you and you bet about a pot size bet. You get one caller. There is a draw on board. Next card doesnt complete the draw. You bet. He calls. Then on the end the draw is completed. I hate checking here because now he can move in on you regardless of what he has. What is the best approach to this situation that seems to keep coming up. How do you bet to get the best idea if he was on a draw without puting you in the situation to lose all of your money.

this is a very general-question, many things depand on type of player your opponent is, strength of your hand, position and stack size.

post couple hands for better advices, but you have to realize people seldom bluff-call with their "draw" then try to represent it later in the hand so if they bet into you when the draw completes, you gotta let it go more often than not.

In a general sense, show aggression. Bet out on the river, this will induce a reraise with a worse hand much less than checking the river will

This is a pretty bad reason for betting. It sounds like this might very well be a losing bet!

This arguement is so vague and general. I think a good arguement can be made for either side depending on circumstances. We need more specifics. Though I do agree that MORE aggression is better in GENERAL (not to say passivity can never help)

agreed. What really needs to be factored in is how often your opponent will reraise with air (or a worse hand) vs. how often he will bluff bet against a river check
