Re: Confusing KQ hand
[ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking I got a lot of things wrong here...lemme have it! [/ QUOTE ] If you had folded the flop when it was two back to you, it would have been much better -- probably even folding to the first one is a good idea. Your king outs are no good here and maybe even your queen outs will make you unhappy (AQ is a clear possibility). A straight would be okay, but you can expect to split often. You probably only have 3 outs in this hand with low implied odds (you can't really ram and jam if you hit an out except for the straight... but you're likely to split it and not make much profit from it). |

Re: Confusing KQ hand
I raised -- it's only one bet back to me...
EDIT: My bad -- the flop, not pre-flop. Sorry. In the heat of battle, I was only thinking about my 4 outs to the gutshot on the flop. Then, when it's two back to me, I was thinking that I'm getting close to the odds to go forward with that (33:4, I think). I conveniently ignored that it might get raised behind me. On the turn, I started thinking KJ was a possibility but I called anyway because of the big pot. I think that was probably a mistake. Then, on the river, I hit my gutshot (with the wrong J), but I still don't bet... The more I look at the way I played this the less I like it! |
