Default Blind defense w/A7o

I feel like I might've gotten a few things wrong here, but I'm not sure. BB is loose and pretty passive post-flop, though I've seen him call down without much. Button is new to the table so no read.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
7 folds, Button raises, Hero calls, BB calls.

Curious if anyone thinks about reraising here...

Flop: (6 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, Button folds.

check-raise here?

Turn: (4 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (6 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero ...

bet/fold? bet/call? check/call??

Well you got the Button to fold, so I would assume you accomplished what you were trying to do. on this river I would check/call.

Preflop you should raise or fold, but I would fold even at 1/2 6 max. Calling with A7o with the BB still to act is pretty bad. I'd consider calling if I was in the BB defending (HU vs button).

What sounds better to you?

a) Playing HU against the button
b) Playing in a 3-way pot against the button and the BB

If you picked (a), you need to reraise preflop. If you didn't pick (a), you need to start over and pick (a).

I check/raise the flop. I don't usually 3bet preflop in blind defense mode, but maybe i should...

Absolutely you should 3-bet. I'll take A7o any day against the Button here HU.

I would probably fire out on the flop.

I think A7o is "generally" a very small loser from the Small Blind 3-Way. (it outperforms the blind amount)

Still, calling is far and away the worst option. You have to either raise to get HU or fold. I think this is a close decision that probably depends on the players involved. Without any read on my opponents, I would tend to raise because my own tight play tends to get noticed quickly and my raise would get some respect even from this spot. So the chances of getting the BB out go up. (remember that the re-raise does not guarantee that you get HU).

I definitely see your point, though I think there's an option (c), given that the BB is loose, which is playing in a reraised 3-way pot, out of position, with a ragged ace.

Still, after reading everything here, I'm leaning towards the reraise. Thanks to everyone that posted their advice.
