Default Flop Decision with QQ

Villain in this hand is new to the table, but only bought in for $80.

Villain is LP ($80)
Hero is BB ($177) with Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

PP NL 100 Full Ring

1 limper, Villain raises to $6, CO calls $6, folds to Hero, Hero raises to $30, Villain waits till time almost expires, Villain calls $24, CO folds

Flop ($75ish): A 3 J r
Hero?

Villain has 50 left

Mostly anything that calls your RR is beating you. JJ/AA/KK/AK/AQ are all smashing you. Unless villan will call your PF bet with 1010 or a lower PP, then you are behind.

Any bet commits you. Decide if you are going to c/f or put him in.

His range of hands has you crushed here. I think a check/fold is in order. Yes there is quite a bit in the pot and Villain did buy in a little short, but I think I cut my losses here.

I guess you have to fold here. You're not ahead of anything really and I'm sure you will probably get his stack later. I think this is a horrible play by him, no matter what he has.

OOP, I usually just call pre-flop. Given that even a smallish CB bet puts villain in here, I think that's what you need to do. Maybe he can fold KK or AQ there.

If he called off that much of his stack preflop, he is never folding any ace here, much less AQ.
