If you flopped a set in the bubble, do you make this call?
You flopped a set in the bubble, knowing that your opponent is on a flush draw, and there is a short stack about to be blind out.
Do you guys make this call here? #Game No : 2617590863 ***** Hand History for Game 2617590863 ***** NL Texas Hold'em $30 Buy-in + $3 Entry Fee Trny:15265243 Level:6 Blinds(100/200) - Monday, August 29, 09:46:17 EDT 2005 Table Table 11492 (Real Money) Seat 2 is the button Total number of players : 4 Seat 2: what1985 ( $2440 ) Seat 4: Bennu ( $520 ) Seat 10: PartyRocks ( $2060 ) Seat 8: GoAheadTryIt ( $2980 ) Trny:15265243 Level:6 Blinds(100/200) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to PartyRocks [ 3d 3c ] PartyRocks raises [400]. what1985 calls [400]. The only way to win a tournament is to take some chances. You've got the best hand and will probably double up. Call.

[/ QUOTE ] Call it and don't break your finger by clicking too fast. What are you doing min-raising pocket 3's UTG with 10 BB? I think this is a push/fold situation where I am DEFINITLY leaning toward fold. Let me take a wild guess at the outcome: Opponent had a higher set or Opponent had a flush draw and caught or Opponent had a random two card hand that beat yours |

Re: If you flopped a set in the bubble, do you make this call?
I dont think the Big Stack would risk all his stack on a draw. Top-pair or overpair sounds more like it. So calling should be safe.

Re: If you flopped a set in the bubble, do you make this call?
Your T200 bet on the flop looks weak. Your opponent probably thinks you have weak holdings and is trying to push you off the pot. Unless I have a strong read, I'd call his push and expect to win 80% of the time.
I think you did a good job of inducing a bluff by him. Now call him down and take his money. |

Also, I would've bet bigger on the flop.

What's up with all that min betting and min raising? Like se2schul said, you did a nice job of looking weak, now call.
And also, fold pre-flop. You don't need to be mixing it up with big stacks with marginal hands when someone is almost out. |

Re: If you flopped a set in the bubble, do you make this call?
What's with the minraise here?
I fold preflop. If I don't fold then I limp (probably because I don't want small stack to push and get the blinds...). Ok, but it was a minraise and a call and trips on the flop. One thing I'm trying to teach myself is not to be smart on the bubble. So I push right away, no min-betting, I don't want to face a push myself and have to call... |
