Default I don\'t know where I am

Whats the best way to find out where I am, or should I just call his smallish bets all the way down? I feel like that can let me get outplayed if a scare card comes.

200 NL. I raise to $8 with QQ in MP. SB minraises me to 14 with 190 behind(which I have covered).

Flop is 789 no suits. He bets $15 and I call.

Turn is a 5. He bets 25 and I call.

River is a K. He bets 40 and I fold.

I feel lost in this hand because I never know where I am. It is rare for people to minraise in this game, and I put him on a decent holding. People wont give up overpairs in the game, so I think there was little chance of folding out an AA or KK anywhere along the line, unless a ten comes, and he checks to me.

Whats the best way to proceed after the flop. I think that preflop is a definite call. Anyone disagree?

Jason
