David's "no hands," is fuzzy writing. He meant none of the listed hands, one would think.

Whatever the semantics are, you have five hundred million BBs, so wait for 77.

I too have not read every post in this thread so forgive me (or call me a douchebag) if this has been mentioned. What if the 77 vs 72o or KK vs K2o matchup doesn't come until hand # 10,000,000? Assuming you are playing live, at a rate of let's say....60 hands per hour, you'd only have to wait 19 years for it to come up. Not bad, but I'd probably get bored sometime around Day 9, take what's left of my billion and split. Even online at a rate of 160 hands per hour it would take 7+ years. That's also not to say you'd be down a few million by this point from the blinds, and while you'd double through when you won the hand, he'd still have a bit of money left on the table. Taking this into account, and also considering that losing the money would not be of huge concern since you're a multibillionaire, is there any situation given these time constraints where you wait for just a slightly less +EV holding to take your shot?

I am going to dissent and say C.

I don't care about the money after all, but I don't want to waste what could be hours waiting for a better spot. I've got better things to do. This is a good enough edge for me.

Right, based on calculations that say so I understand that - the question was based on a scenario outside the calculations where this doesnt happen - what if it's hand #5,000,000 (~9 years B&M), #1,000,000 (~2 years B&M)? Obviously if it's an online match and you only have to wait 1,000,000 hands (less than a year) it's feasable to say you'd wait.

"Time" should've been stipulated into the question, saying that you and your opponent are in a Time Vortex (C) (R) (TM) where neither of you will age nor will you miss anything in the real world.

Regardless: this is getting silly.
