Default Rockets on tilt - low content

It was one of those sessions. No draws hitting, PP's getting cracked, big cards not holding up. I think I might have been on tilt.

This is my digital dunce cap for the day.

Ironically, I read a post earlier suggesting a book called "The Tao of Poker" and put it on my amazon wish list

Paradise Poker 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.40 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, Button calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (5.20 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, Button calls, UTG 3-bets, Hero caps, Button calls, UTG calls.

River: (17.20 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, Button folds, UTG 3-bets, Hero caps, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 25.20 BB

In reality it probably only cost me 2-3BB. The turn 3-bet should have been the flashing yellow light to slow down....

Call the turn raise instead of capping and call the river.

It's all you can do - no way in hell you can fold. Mr QJ got lucky.

I realized that a bit too late.

I was just freaking jazzed to be > 80% pot equity for the first time I went into a blind jamming mode.

By reflecting and posting, I hope that the lesson here is reinforced.

Thanks

The turn is an easy cap -- you could be up against AT, KT, 77, TT, or any other variety of hands that will give you this kind of action, and the only one that beats you is QJ. After he keeps firing on the river and you don't fill up, you can slow down.

I think I cap the turn, too, but call the river when he leads.

i agree with that, unless he is really passive postflop, there are more hands he's 3betting that you beat, than you lose too

you have the second nuts, you can't always assume they have the best of it
