Pocket 2s
I've been thinking a lot about the play of small pocket pairs. I'm just trying to get a feel for how successful people are with small pocket pairs.
If you have at least 50,000 hands in your PT database, please answer this poll: |

Re: Pocket 2s
22 is usually straightforward. All the toughest decisions with this hand come preflop. And even that is pretty straightforward.

Re: Pocket 2s
Up .12 w/ 40K hand at 3/6. Down .09 over w/ 50K at 2/4. Guess it shows the variance where you have a hand ~200 times and don't have that high of a VPIP on it anyway.

Re: Pocket 2s
Well. I was curious because there seems to be some pre-flop differences in the way people play them. I rarely play them UTG. People were calling me crazy for ever throwing them away in a small stakes game.
To me, they're just not profitable unless you can play them in a multiway pot or with position. Since 2s are so easy to play after the flop, I thought this poll might give some indication of success with different pre-flop strategies. Like I said, I'm very tight with 2s, but they are a profitable hand for me. I'm wondering if people that always play 2s in an unraised pot (and sometime in raised pots) show a profit. |
