Another AJ hand
Party Poker 5/10, game was loose but is tightening up. New player limps in early position, I raise with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], all fold back to limper who calls.
Flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ( 5 small bets ) limper bets, I raise, limper 3-bets, I call. Turn is J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5.5 big bets) Limper bets, I call. River is A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Limper bets, I call. Comments? Should I fold the flop when I get 3-bet? Anybody fold on the turn or river? Results to follow. |

Re: Another AJ hand
I was in middle position, everybody behind me and the blinds folded.

Re: Another AJ hand
Since he's new, and you have no read, I would have to say a limp pre-flop and 3-bet flop is pretty serious. It's kind of expensive thereafter to see what cards he has.

Re: Another AJ hand
Here's my dilemma, I doubted he would play a Ten so aggressively, so I thought if I was behind I was drawing live. The only draw on the board gets there on the turn, but I now have the nut flush redraw and a pair. On the river when he bets, it seems unlikely I'm still ahead with my top 2 pair, but against an unknown getting 8:1 it seems a little to good to fold.

Results
My opponent showed 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for the flush and won the hand.
If the flush would have got there on the turn and I didn't have the Ace of trump and/or a pair I would have folded. As it was my hand kept getting just a little better so I felt I needed to keep calling. |
