I think you went out about it the wrong way. Most people don't understand poker. They see it as just any other type of gambling. You need to make her understand that poker is different from Blackjack, craps, etc. She was obviously very upset and you needed to do damage control. I have the same problem with my girlfriend (Although not as bad). I tell her that I play small stakes and not that often, and that I am a winner.

Maybe you weren't getting along and poker was the last straw, but it kinda sucks to think that poker was the only reason that your relationship ended.

I know the type. The person that deals with addiction everyday as their job. They "textbook" you over a lottery ticket or a beer on the sofa watching the ballgame.

Here's to hoping she falls in love with some other guy and gets married and for the Honeymoon they go to Aruba and he blows fifty large in the hotel casino!

First step...admit you have a gambling problem. The tv tells us we have a problem when we bet more than you can afford to lose. Because you admitted this you need help.

Yes mixing your finances with this person was a gamble that the average person wouldn't make. Get immediate help for your problem and keep playing poker so you don't get so easily distracted next time.
