Return to Castle Wolfenstein never did much for me. I felt it was overrated. Also, if HL2 bored you, I'm not really sure what else I can say.

Failure to have Championship Manager in is a crime.

I'm sure Rob Smith yelled at them and threatened their families for this omission.

He probably also complained about the lack mention for MTG Online.

Don't care. The title was not "Top 50 U.S. games of all times". The Sports Interactive series is so far a head of its competition, and continues to innovate. It is a must have.

RTCW as a clan multiplayer game is probably the best game out there for variety tactics etc, although the scence dies on its arse quite quickly. I was in a clan which is probably why I am biased.

At the moment poker is my main gaming, the boat level on HL2 is just to long repetative and boring at the stages I am at anyway, yes the grahics are great etc and the atmosphere of the game is good in the initial parts but the get so far have to jump off find a switch/puzzle to open blocked path to me is just so old, maybe it get better later in the game.

But I prefere the WW2 type shooters so again my opinion goes that way.

Well this is a pretty ignorant statement.
Of course since it's a US mag they are going to pay less attention to games most people in the US either don't have access to or awareness of. They will save that for the UK version of their mag. Plus, CM is definitely a niche game. Most people wouldn't know what to do with it.

It is not a niche game. AFAIK it has been the best selling game in the U.K. (and much of Europe) over the past year. And this list is not meant to be a popularity contest.

Of course it is!

Every top (insert #) list is a popularity contest.
It may not be the goal of the list, or the reasons they give for liking the games. But make no mistake about it, this list was heavily influenced by the popularity of the games with the PCG editors and staff. That's just the way it goes with these types of things.

I won't disagree with you about CM being a great game, though. But I think it's a bit silly to expect a US mag to include a niche game (yes it is) from the UK.

The same as I would not have expected a UK mag to have included a Baseball game or for that matter the beavis and butthead one, if it was uk I would have expected a Fifa game in there as well but like all things it is going to be down to local preferances.
