Default $5.5 Flopped OESD newbie question

Hello! I've played some sngs but not too many. This situation came up and I didn't really know if I should play for the straight or pick up the pot right there. SB was fairly tight trying to steal some blinds but usually folded when bet on flop if had nothing. I picked up MANY pots by betting on flop. If I catch up my straight and he gets something I might get his whole stack edit(not whole stack just as much as I got ) or part of it. Is it too risky? Any help appreciated!

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter

MP (t2970)
Button (t1100)
SB (t5660)
Hero (t2450)
UTG (t1320)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t200) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t300, SB folds.

Final Pot: t500
