How big of a moran is this kid? (WSOP Content)
from gutshot's wsop updates (Dave is the devilfish)
"The maniac lady who Dave loaned most of his chips to, called the floor on him as he prepared a raise with his last $2,000. Reason? Talking on his mobile during the deal. His hand was mucked. He then offers a young kid $10,000 for 25% of his action as he knew it would be one of them to get the chips on the table. He turns down the offer." For those who need a translation: Devilfish offered to pay a kid at his table $10,000 (thus making the tourney a freeroll for him) for 25% of his action, and the kid turned it down. On the first day of the tourney nonetheless. |

If you don't see why then that explains even more about your HUD post.

It all depends on how many chips the guy had. It is theoretically possible for it to be a bad offer, just not that likely at this point.

On the first day of a 5600 player tourney, how many chips would someone have to have before he (and his backers) would pass on freerolling for 75% of the prize money?
I don't know much about tournament equity, but the math seems to indicate that unless you don't care at all about the $10K, you can't turn this offer down. |

Re: How big of a moran is this kid? (WSOP Content)
the obvious answer is 40,000 chips. Devilfish isn't an idiot... he didn't offer the deal to everyone at the table, just the kid. My guess is the table was poor, the kid had a decent chipstack already and would be the best player at the table after Dave busted. Without knowing more details its impossible to say he was dumb for turning this down.

[ QUOTE ] the obvious answer is 40,000 chips [/ QUOTE ] Wrong. Do you see why? [/ QUOTE ] Who started this "do you see why?" crap? I find this to be about the most annoying thing I've ever read. I'm pretty sure if he saw why it's wrong, he wouldn't have thought it in the the first place. Why don't you just explain why you *think* it's wrong? </rant> |
