Default Software comparison

I was wondering if someone has actually tried the following two software packages and would have a recommendation:

1) Poker Academy: Pro
2) Turbo Texas Hold'em

There is already a comparison at this link but I wanted to get an 'unbiased' opinion as much as possible.

AncientGamer,

Both websites have free demo versions you can download. Why not download both demos and compare them?

I can tell you ahead of time, although with *extreme* bias, you will quickly see that Poker Academy is the way to go :-)

Cheers,
Aaron Davidson,
Poker Academy

From reviewing things so far, it appears Poker Academy is the way to go. I was thinking that I missed something because the comparison seemed so off balance.

For example, Poker Academy includes so much for 1 price, $99, and the Wilson brand charges $89 for Texas Holdem then another $89 for Tournament play. If that's the case and the AI is more sophisticated with Poker Academy, it seems like a no brainer.

That's why I thought I may have been missing something or is it just that simple?

Yes, it's just that simple. We decided to compete, we'd just blow everything else out of the water :-)

Aaron:

As an owner of Poker Acadamy 1.5, I'm looking forward to the addition of Pot limit, Omaha, O8E, and Stud games as well - eventually of course

Does PA allow the ai players to call raise and reraise with rags and suck out on you like the others, or is it more realistic? Is Razz an option?

It looks good.

Default Texas Turbo: I was disappointed

The s/w is very crude and the AI plays very bizzare.

I haven't tried Turbo Texas Hold'em but Poker Academy Pro is well worth the money.

Crude is right - in Wilson that shaky voice saying "It's been raised" needs a lot of work...

For anyone interested, Poker Academy Pro rocks! I wanted to learn the things I've read from the 2+2 books without losing too much money on my learning curve.

I can play about 400 hands an hour without risking any real money on finding leaks in my game.

It's worth the money.
