Default Running bad while chasing bonuses

I've been on a horrible run recently while chasing a bonus. The games have been very soft, but a combination of bad play and bad luck has caused me to lose a lot of money. It's occuring to me that nearly every time I run bad is when I'm whoring a bonus. I think the large number of hands, coupled with pending expiration dates, causes me to play when I'm tired, angry, or just don't feel like it. I'm thinking of giving up on bonuses altogether and just playing when I feel like it. I play for a living, so I have to put in a lot of hours, but I think I'd rather put in good hours without a bonus than bad hours with a bonus backing me up. Anyone else experienced this, or have any thoughts on the matter?

If you play for a living, then don't you put in more than enough hands/week to easily clear most bonuses? This assumes that you are playing at a site where you find good games.

If there was only one bonus, yes. But multiple bonuses with time-limits going on concurrently, combined with the fact that I prefer to play only one table at a time and some procrastination thrown in means that I'm often pushing deadlines. Anyway, thanks for the helpful reply.

Yeah, I don't understand either, these two statements:

I'm thinking of ... just playing when I feel like it.

[/ QUOTE ]

and:

[ QUOTE ]

I play for a living

[/ QUOTE ]

Sound completely contradictory.

Are you bonus whoring at sites you don't normally play at? If so, why not spread them out over the course of the month - If you need (say) 1,000 hands at site X, instead of doing all 1,000 in one day do 50 a day for 20 days.

The first answer is to not try for bonuses that
you know in advance will cause you problems to
clear.

The second answer is to take maximum advantage
of bonuses at sites like UB, that do not expire.

my thoughts here -----
you are doing just what a bonus is set up for --- CHASING----
screw the bonus -- ON LINE OR IN A B/M room --- play your game as normal and get the cash -------------
A room here in Vegas has started a high hand bonus -- takes an extra drop form the pot ----- I do not care for this and may soon go back to my normal stomping grounds -----

You play for a living, but you only play one table at a time?

That doesn't jibe . . .
