Default Seeking Advice for Wounded Soul

I've had bad streches before, but I'm looking for solace from anyone who has had a session to match this:

3/6 B&M play, loose passive with inexplicable bursts of loose aggression
4 1/2 hours of play
Total loss of 40BB
Zero pots won

I won't burden anyone with the particularities of the random hands that continually outflopped/outdrew my big pairs.

I've lost as much in a session, and I've had sessions where I failed to drag a pot, but I've never lost so much and been shut out simultaneously in such a short span of time.

I also have to say that this comes after a very good couple of months, so the crash back to earth was inevitable. I just wasn't expecting such an extreme bitch-slap.

Any thoughts on regaining composure/getting back on the horse? Or should I not even sweat this?

Yeah. Take some time off. No poker for a few days. Then do something different, like a tourney.

I took an extended bitch slap a few weeks ago, over several visits. I lost to more crap hands than I'd care to think about. I swore off visiting the casino for 2 weeks, and instead came home and played a few SNG tournaments online. Did quite well in the tourneys, and that got me back on track.

Just remember that the fish have to beat your AA with T6 offsuit on occasion, otherwise they would leave the game for good.
