Count me in. Would love the deep stack practice.

This is a good game. None of these guys understand why AQs out of position is better than JJ in position.

i don't understand why they do not limit the buy in at the 10-20 blind NL game. you can buy in for 2K, 10K, 20K, 100K or whatever you want....doesn't this give big edge to the large buy ins? or is it better not to be too deep stacked?

[/ QUOTE ]

not a tournament, a big stack doesn't give you any advantage over an opponent as that opponent can cash out right after he doubles through you.

Because you can only play effective stacks. If you have 100BB, you can only lose 100BB, no matter how deep your opponents are.

It's different than a tournament where the bigger stack has more chances to stack you and more leway before getting busted from the tournament.

The dynamic might be different if you were significantly below average chipstack, as you might begin being a sidepot for the big stacks, and they may be getting better [implied] odds to call in spots where they wouldn't if you were deeper. I would think this would mostly be an advantage, though, really. It would just make it more likely that you would triple up without having to see a showdown from one of the donators (because he was bet out).

It basically doesn't matter.

It gives the big stack an "edge" only in so far as he is able to maximize his good hands. But it gives him no inherent edge in any other way.

I guess the question is: why do you think it does give him an edge? Do you have a reason or is this simply the fact that you see references to TV tourney commentators refering to the edge of big stacks? Let's take an example, a live NL cash game, the blinds are 1/2 with no max buy-in. Everyone is sitting with $100 except for one player who has $200. What is the difference between him having $200 in this situation and him having $10,000? Answer: Nothing. He can still only win the most that his opponents have in front of them. Danial Negreneau wrote a good bit about this a couple of weeks ago in his blog. You should check it out if you still don't understand this concept.

id appreciate if any1 who knows of an online game w/ blinds of at least $2/4 (the higher, thew better) w/ no cap would post here.

[/ QUOTE ]

we should have a private 2+2 deep game sometime. maybe on stars, where everyone agrees to do the rebuy trick 5 times, until everyone has 500 BB.

would definitely be fun, and perhaps some interesting hands between the different posters could result in some good discussion.

good idea?

[/ QUOTE ]

We can do this on UB and nobody has to do any rebuy trick nonsense.

We can also agree to put in a blind bet of a different size. These games are all micro-blinds, but we can agree that the blind positions will put in a minimum of x/2x every hand.

Stars support might set this up for you without any weird things if you just e-mail them.
