UTG checks
MP1 checks
Hero bets $10
UTG goes all-in for $27.50
MP1 folds

Its $17.50 to me. The pot is now $45.75.
I would be getting 2.6:1 odds on the call.

Should I call?
What would you do with pocket 9's, 10's or Jacks in this spot?

I call this every time. UTG if he has a monster he should have raised you pre-flop. Looks to me like he weak called saw a pretty harmless flop assuming you have over cards great place for him to try and steal if he is on draw or hit a pair.

get all his money in while you are probably ahead and over the long run will pay off, same with 9's or j's

Call, from the preflop play I don't think he has a higher pkt pair than you, unless he is trying to be sneaky, he most likely has a strong ace, get your money in while you are ahead.

QQ will usually raise from UTG. JJ is split. You are really only beating 99 right now.

On this board I'd play 55 or 88 this way.

I'm thinking he has 88, possibly 55. If he's REALLY loose, 22 isn't out of the question on these tables. Anything higher than JJ and I would expect a raise PF, but anything lower than 99 without making the set is extremely unlikely to check-raise you all in.

The only other thing I'm even considering he has is the nut flush draw. If that's the case, a call is OK, but I really doubt it. I fold here, happy I haven't lost more.

IMO u raised to much = u comitted urself to the pot.

I would probably bet 2/3 of the pot say 5-6 $ then normally check fold or fire a second burrel. Unless I know this guy is completley loose I wouldnt go All in. Dont pot comitt urself to a hand youre not sure ure willing to go All in

With pocket 10's don't you want to discourage overcards from calling and seeing 4th street. It is my understanding that you bet the pot in these situations.

By the way, i called, he showed KK and he took down the pot.

There is no way I am putting him on KK. Slowplaying his hand was questionable at best, stupid at worst. I guess he was looking to double-up and I was his fool.

you can't kill yourself on that call it was a horrible play by him that panned out. The all-in bet for him there is also stupid, a simple raise or call would have had you commit all your money instead of a big bet to possibly get you out.

I didn't want the post to be a "bad beat" complaint because in truth, it really wasn't. My curiosity was more about whether one should fold the hand in that situation.

Tens, Jacks, and even Queens can be a risky holding against a short-stacked all-in on the flop. Since it has happened to me more than a few times---and I almost always call when it does happen---I was wondering how others would play it.

From the responses, a majority of you would call as well.
