Please tell me how bad I'm playing.
Very early in the tourny.
Recognized trouble, but almost instacalled anyways.

Any read on the CO?

Without one, that turn raise certainly should set off some warning bells. That's a pretty ugly flop for him to call your bet on, unless he's on a flush draw, or has a weak J. When he raises the turn, sure doesn't look like a flush anymore. I'd expect to be up against a set of some sort a lot of the time, based on the PF cold-call, or maybe something like KJ.

I guess you'd have to weigh that against the chance that he's in there with KQ, or something similar that you can beat. But you pretty much have to be against that for your all-in to make sense - you're not folding a hand that's ahead of you there.

I think in the heat of the moment, I would probably call the turn raise, and put out some sort of blocking bet on the river. In this case though, your stack size isn't really big enough for that line. I think it's a tough turn fold. Not that it's a fold I'm capable of making, but I'd like to think so.

KhQh, is the only hand I can see you beating here. And even then he has outs to win.

DISCLAIMER: Like nolan said this is also a hand I have a tough time laying down in the heat of the moment. Different reading about it here. I likely would have taken a similar line to you while playing.

I don't always fold there, but I do always want to.

FWIW, when I do fold, I've been right most (but not all) of the time.

For some reason I always thought your name was Nick, but I see from your profile it's Scott. Think it's because of a post you made about the Live MTT's in Vegas you were busting up.

So Scott, not much of a read, it was very early, like the 1st 5 hands, and some of the players got in via the $5 turbo.
Think these are better because of these.

Thanks for your analysis.
Should have folded.

Thanks
FWIW, that respose helps.
Some times I feel like I'm a total dope and need a shot of reality.
It's so much better when we get the set

My money's on a set that just got spooked by the second spade (with a lesser chance of KJ.) I think you are ahead here vs a random opponent very close to never and you are usually drawing dead. That being said, in the heat of the moment there's also greater than 50% chance my chips make it in the middle in the same fashion that yours did.
