Default Paulson home poker chips, please help.

Hello,
I am considering the purchase of 1,000 Paulson Top Hat and Cane home poker chips from buypokerchips.com. The cost is 1,045 dollars. Free shipping. I plan to use the chips for both low limit home games (converting number on chips from dollars to cents) and tourneys. What do people think of these chips? Is that an acceptable price? Is this a good place to buy these chips? Thanks in advance for the advice.

I would suggest getting samples of alot of different chips.
Don't limit yourself to just paulson chips. Get samples of nextgen and chipco chips as well.

Paulson and chipco chips are used in most casinos in vegas. nextgen chips are very popular for people who want to put custom labels on their chips.

Paulson are probably the best clay chip that you can get. They are expensive though.

Check out http://www.homepokertourney.com/chips_review.htm for chip reviews on most every chips that is available.

Check out
http://www.5stardeal.com/
and
http://www.holdempokerchips.com/
for a very large selection of both real clay chips and ceramic chips as well.

I have purchased chips from buypokerchips.com before and I have not had any problem with them. I also have purchased chips from the two above mentioned sites as well and not had any problem either.

I dont have any association with the above mentioned sites.

Best advise. Get samples.

I have a 1000 of the Pharoah's Club chips from holdempokerchips. They are the best chips I have ever seen in or outside a casino. I got samples of every single chip and style I could lay my hands on before I purchased these. Unless you prefer Chipco ceramic chips over clay/composite, you can do no better.

If you're going to spend that kind of cash, I recommend getting your own custom made chips from www.pokerchips.com.

Plummy,

I agree with several of the poster so far. Take you time and get some chip samples of the better chips available. I would also include those from The Poker Chip Company of Torrance CA. Their #1003 and #1006 style chips are true clay chips and have a fantastic feel and sound. Don’t be fooled by the picture, order them and see how they really feel and sound. Same to be said for all the better chips. That being said, creating your own chips from scratch has to be very rewarding. However if your budget is wide open then the Paulsons have to be the Cadillac of chips. Of course you can get the Poker Chip Company chips for half the cost and the are really great. Check out some of the review for this chip online. Good luck
