Default 2 coinflip hands. 180 person SNG

Hand #1

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

MP1 (t2860)
MP2 (t13550)
MP3 (t2485)
Hero (t12386)
Button (t12584)
SB (t3618)
BB (t4895)
UTG (t4523)
UTG+1 (t6974)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t600</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to t4870</font>, Hero?

Would you call here if you are 100% sure that villain does not have a pair bigger than 66?

I am in the top ten in chips about 35 left in a 180 person SNG. If I win I will be in the top 3 in chips, if I lose I will be average. I feel this is an easy call.

Hand #2

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

CO (t11890)
Button (t4995)
Hero (t5766)
BB (t12434)
UTG (t3368)
UTG+1 (t12925)
MP1 (t4073)
MP2 (t8424)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls t200, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises to t4048</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, Hero?

I feel that Mp1 doesn't want to be called here pushing 4k in after a limper.

I am slightly below average, but still have a M of ten. Again if I am confident that this will be a coinflip or that I am way ahead, this should be a auto call right? I am more worried about the limper, but I feel I need to acumulate chips to come in first. This hand came shortly after the first one.

1-Fold
2-Fold

If you want to call, it's the first one.

I felt the second hand was marginal also. But I still called. Why call with TT and fold 99? Is the decision really that close?

That push by MP1 screams DONT WANT TO PLAY A FLOP. Unless you have some other read. Most of the time this is a pair like 88-JJ,or AK,AQ and most people tend to just standard raise AA-QQ. With Tens i feel just *that* much more ahead of his range to commit basically all my chips.

Would I call here if I was 100% sure I had the best hand? Yes. Would I call here if I was 80% sure I had the best hand? Probably not since my edge is too small and Villians stack too large. But it's close. I'd probably call with 88 or even 77 (too lazy to do the math now). The additional benefit of calling is that your steals will run into less resteals due to fear that you'll call down with a wide range of cards.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I'm curious about coinflips as well. Villain has just been moved to my table but i've been wtaching him on the other one and he's been pretty LAG from the bubble onwards. $20 mtt, 650 entrants, ITM and 50 odd left.

I put him squarely on AK here since it seemed like he wanted me out the hand pretty bad, the only thing I was really worried about was QQ. Any money short of the final table I wasn't really interested in so I called, with this in mind is this the right move?

(saorry converter not working)

you have JJ and you are kind of shortstacked with the blinds so high. This is a no brainer call. Only 3 hands have you crushed, everything else you are ahead of. The hands I posted are more marginal because of my stack size and the range of hands that have me beat are much higher. In both cases if villain flipped over thier cards and I knew they would be coinflips, and I have a slight edge, I would definately call.

It depends on the range you put your opponent on. For example, if we're pretty confident that Villians range is "JJ-88,AQs+,AQo+", 99 is about 49.2%. Definitely a close decision given the money already in the pot, but risky if our range is too loose. Compare this with TT at 57.6%. 99 is almost break even here, whereas TT has a ~15% edge. With TT there's a lot more room for error in our range and it has significantly more equity than 99.

Ok cheers.

It's not so much the cards as the situation I wanted to clarify. I seem to spend a lot of time getting minor cashes after losing coinflips, but I guess that's the difference between going deep and getting squat.
