Default Casino Morongo in Southern California

Any 2+2ers go to Morongo regularly? I've been going every weekend the last couple of weeks, mainly because it's the closest place where I can play poker without being 21 or over. The new casino is pretty cool, but still sort of trashy.

i use to go there pretty often since its the closest 18+ to me.

the games are pretty loose. but the wait lists are riduclious especially on friday and saturday nights. and the games are pretty slow because they dont have the shufflers. they use to have a monthly promotion where they would send you $40 coupons for playing an hour of poker, but i havn't gotten those since like august, maybe they stopped mailing them, i dunno.

their new casino opened like 2 weeks ago, i havnt been there yet. how is it? hows the new poker room?

its not trashy. these guys are exgraerating a bit.

its may not be the nicest place but its not exactly trashy. they also have tribal security driving around the parking lot which is nice.

they spread 2-4 up to 8-16 i think. also have $100 no limit.

Always crowded beacause there are like 6 tables and they feed the poker needs of everyone in the IE who is between 18-21 and can't go to San Manuel or drive to LA.

Their theme song is annoying? How about that stupid slogan?

"So close to winning"

What the hell does that mean? That I am close in geographic proximity to the casino or that, more likely, I got 19 in blackjack and dealer had 21, I was "so close".

Worst of all, their food is bad and OBNOXIOUSLY over priced. Compared to Ocean's Eleven, which has great food, delivered to the table for you, practically for free, Morongo is horrible. A cheeseburger and french fries requires you to leave whatever game you are in, wait in line, and pay 7 freaking dollars. Ridiculous.

Plus they use two VERY different manufacturers of chips which makes counting and stacking hard, and if you have a chip rack on the table then any jackpot hand on that table is void (hint: take your racks off the table).

In Los Angeles I get the impression we take reasonably priced or comped half-decent or better table-side food for granted.

PS Love the food at Ocean's 11 but it's been a few years.
