Re: ***The OFFICIAL Sox ALDS***
[ QUOTE ]
The Yankees scored 7 more runs in Yankee Stadium thank the Sox did in Fenway Park. [/ QUOTE ] How does this do anything but prove the Yankees have an edge? If the Yankees had played at Fenway they would have outscored them by a much larger maring. It's because of the wall and the fenway left field would suit the yankee power lefties very well. |

[/ QUOTE ] great, so now i have to explain to people that fenway is a better hitters park the the stadium... every BP stat ive seen says fenway is more of a hitters park than YS. of course you are right, the stadium does suit left handed power hitters well. |

great, so now i have to explain to people that fenway is a better hitters park the the stadium... [/ QUOTE ] I never said it wasn't. Fenway's a great doubles park. I said (or intimated) [ QUOTE ] the stadium does suit left handed power hitters well. [/ QUOTE ] YS is less of an all-around hitters park than Fenway, but it's one of the best parks for power lefties to hit in. That's why the most successful Yankee clubs have had at least one strong left-handed starter, because it's so important to neutralize lefties in YS. I know I'm stating the super-obvious. Thought it needed to be pointed out tho. |

[/ QUOTE ] It was more this part: [ QUOTE ] The Sox scored 22 more runs on the road than the Yankees did. [/ QUOTE ] I was trying to find a team hit chart but I didn't have any success. I took a look at Giambi & Martinez and those guys seemed to have a decent number of homers to right field that wouldn't make it out in most parks. Both the parks have setups that favor certain hitting styles. The away numbers are so close that it's tough to make a clear determination of who was the better offensive team this season. |

Ok I thought you were implying that YS was a better hitters park than Fenway. Which would be untrue. We both know the right field dynamics of YS, so thats settled.

[ QUOTE ] Schilling would be going on full rest today. [/ QUOTE ] Darn, you're right, he last pitched on Sunday. I could then make a case for him pitching today to set him up for Game 1 of the next series. Thanks for pointing out my oversight. [/ QUOTE ] This should take place next April for you, so I'm guessing your entire rotation should be set up pretty well for that. |
