Do I push here?
I was playing a MTT yesterday and had been bouncing around at 3000T or so but was having no luck aquiring more chips. The blinds had just moved to 100/200 and a few players at the table were already at ~8000-10K T. Origionally 1085 players. We are down to about 200 and the money starts at 140.
In late middle position I recieve KQh. It has been folded around to me so I raise to 800. (4X BB) The button goes all in with around 8000 and the blinds fold. I have no reads on the player since he has been moved to the table recently and all I can think is that his large chipstack indicates that he isnt a total idiot. Should I push here? I folded but later felt that maybe this was a point where I should have pushed. I was crippled as the blinds continued to rise and I couldnt make another good play. Funny enough I get KQs again when I have only 1000T left. I go all in preflop fromt he BB and am called down losign to A8 off. Was I wrong to fold? Greg |

Re: Do I push here?
No. I would not do this. U still have 2200 left wich isnt much but u can fight back w it. KQ is a good hand to rise w but if u have to play for all ur money its a big risk that ur dominated by KK QQ AK AQ and of corse AA have u in bad shape. Ur also a dog against any Ax and have a coinflip agains JJ or lover. All this togheter u cant call.
When u moved in w the KQ the second time u didnt have to mu´ch money left and the other person could but u on many hands that u would move in w so he called w hes A8 and had u beat. Try to not go so low in chips, u have to be a force to fight back so they ear ur all in. GL and have fun |

Re: Do I push here?
thanks for the analysis. I am new to larger tourney's so I have a hard time trusting my own opinions about what to do.
I need to work harder to aquire a strong chip standing and stay ahead of the blinds. I was doing quite well up to about 3000T then I couldnt seem to get any more chips until it was too late and the blinds were large. Greg |
