Default Trip Report (pics)

After weeks of anticipation I was finally able to visit the Berkeley Botanical Gardens on Sunday. It was everything I expected and more. Highly recommend visiting this place if you ever visit the Bay area. Greeting me at the entrance was this beauty from Mexico

Then we came across this freaky fellow.

A brain looking plant from South Africa.

You know I was looking forward to this.

This little froggy only lives with this carnivorous plant. The plant will eat everything except the frog.

Finally! it was time for the cycad section. Sadly, there were only two.

Some random cool plants.

Due to time constraints were only able to see about half the garden. I can't wait for my next visit. I concentrated mostly on California native plants and the desert dwellers. Next time I'll spend more time in the Mediterranean and Asia.

That was some kind of Agave. Agave is what they use to make tequila but I'm not sure they use this particular species.

OK why do these work but the other one doesn't?

PS the yellow one (last one I think) is cool.

That brain plant is very unsettling for some reason. My favorite is the red one in the "cool" link.
