Default Caro:\"In Poker, Math is MEANINGLESS!\"

Bluff Magazine: Mike Caro's column: WISDOM, improve your game p.96.

"In poker, math is meaningless..." Mike Caro.

Sure once in a while it comes in handy he says but really it is meaningless. I am posting this here on David, Mathman, Sklansky and Mason, almost as mathy, Malmuth's forum to show them just how wrong they are about poker. I mean after all Caro is Doyle's poker consultant. So there!

it's not meaningless...however, it isn't everything there is to know about poker, or mathematicians would be winning the WSOP every year....(or some kids from MIT)

Every sound decision in poker is based on math, whether Caro is consciously thinking about it at the table or not.

Yeah, that and you spell "potato" with an e on the end simply because Dan Quayle thinks so.

Mike Caro is a fine player, and he has his style. That doesn't mean everyone else is wrong. Sklansky isn't a consistent winner by just babbling nonsense.

Strictly speaking, mathematics is nothing more than a language.

Poker involves thinking..that's all that needs to be said.
