I don't know that jackpot rules there but everywhere I ever played, you would have needed an ace in your hand. [/ QUOTE ] Do you play at cardrooms with 5 Ace decks? |

No, where I play three aces on the board and a pair in the hole would not qualify for the bad beat jackpot.

[/ QUOTE ] Some casinos have jackpots where the qualifier is Aces full of 10's or better, but you must also do it with an Ace in your hand. Example1: board is AAA23 rainbow, there is no bad beat possible no this board. You cannot win the bad beat with KK vs. QQ (note, this is specific to casinos steamboatin is referring to) Example2: board is AAJK2 rainbow, the bad beat can be won by AK vs. AJ (meaning you have an Ace in your hand). |

[/ QUOTE ] [Nit Post] This post is slightly misleading in that it seems like you is referring to the OP's hand (which would not qualify for a bad beat at your casino except quads vs str8 flush or str8 flush vs. str8 flush). But even so, you don't necessarily need an Ace in your hand (ex. str8 flush vs quads, etc...)[/Nit Post] |

I feel for you.
I once didn't show a royal flush, which would've gotten me a nice leather jacket, albeit with a casino logo. |

Exactly like your previous post. One of the aces must be in your hand to qualify.

Many casinos allow you to have Aces full with only a pocket pair (i.e. 10s and up, for example) and no ace in your hand.

Like a poster said earlier I highly doubt this would have qualified as a jackpot. She probably didn't realise both players must have a A in their hand and use both hole cards to qualify.
I have never seen a poker room bad beat jackpot where that is not the case. Who knows though? |

I've been to many casinos where this method is used (any aces full of ten's or higher beat using both cards is a bad beat jackpot, even with pocket pair vs. pocket pair on AAAxx board). In this case, I would expect that this would qualify unless the casino did not allow a pocket pair with an AAAxx board. |
