first hand of tournament, overall comments needed
pokerstars $20+2, very first hand of the tournament. No previous reads or info on any of the players
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter Hero (t1500) CO (t1500) Button (t1520) SB (t1480) BB (t1500) UTG (t1500) UTG+1 (t1500) MP1 (t1500) MP2 (t1500) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls t20, 3 folds, Hero raises to t80, CO calls t80, Button calls t80, 2 folds, UTG calls t60. Flop: (t350) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) UTG checks, Hero bets t280, CO folds, Button raises to t1440, UTG folds, Hero ????? Here's what I'd like to know: 1) how does everyone like my preflop raise? not enough? 2) how about the flop bet? With that many callers I'm a little unsure about how to play it being so early to act. finally 3) is this an auto call (of the all in reraise) with no reads? what range of hands could I put this reraising pusher on? Thanks in advance for the comments. |

He's got a 9. I push all my chips in.
Preflop is fine - 4xBB with no reads as to what will get called. |

Re: first hand of tournament, overall comments needed
Your raise is fine. The problem with the first hand of the tourney is that sometimes guys will call your raise with a huge range of hands just to see who you are. Anyway, there is absolutely no way I fold here. Sucks if some donk stayed in with K4soooted or some weird crap, but I agree with exit that this is probably any pair or even possibly AK/AQ if he's a real tard.

Thanks guys, I'm glad to know that I played it right. He ended up flipping over 77 and my aces held up
