Default Crazy AA no raise

playing at the loosest table in history, 7 players in to see the flop.

Get the to the end and a guy holding AA loses to someone holding 23o.

When asked about not raising they spouted something about building pot, and then someone told me Clautier recommended it or something..

What is the world coming too?

Peter

I was attempting to find out the validity of such a statement in micro limit games.

Ah, the tone of your original post didn't reflect this too well. There is not much value to this play at all. Essentially what you do is give others good implied to hit their 10:1 shots or whatever. By raising preflop you destroy implied odds and build a good sized pot in the mean time. I would only ever try to limp aces if there is a maniac on my left who is raising a LOT of hands.

Very true. I think Cloutier is a no limit tournament player. There are times in tournaments where it is appropriate to limp AA. This just goes to show how much people misapply strategies based on what they hear about the tournament players on TV and such.

Ugh, you raise the pot pre-flop with AA because you have an equity edge. I HATE limping with AA in micro games. stupid, stupid, stupid. Build the pot?!?! Idiot, if you've got 7 people going into a pot with a -EV hand then there's a lot of dead money in there, with AA you have to raise. Against multiple hands with AA giving cheap cards is just asking to lose.

Yep, limping with AA is always a stupid play.

You could pretty much ignore all advice you ever hear at a live poker table and be much, much better off.
