Default Help with screen shots

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I seem to be search-impaired. All I could find is pages of funny screennames.

Would someone tell me how to save/print a screen shot? I mainly want to be able to save shots of Party cashier screens for record purposes.

I have a PC, Win98, a standard keyboard with a button that says "Print Scrn SysRq" that doesn't seem to do anything. I mostly use Mozilla Firefox but have IE6 also.

Thanks

After you press Print Screen I believe you go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint.

Open up Paint and then look for a drop down menu (I think its Edit) and paste the image. From there you could save it.

Print Screen just does a copy. To print it, you need to paste the image in to another program (Paint, Word, PowerPoint)

Tips
If you just use the Print Screen button you will get the whole screen (all visible windows, and the start menu/toolbar).

If you hold alt + Print Screen you only get the active window.

If you want to take a screenshot of something open in Internet Explorer, consider hitting F11 before doing the print screen. This gives a full screen view of IE so that you don't have large navigation buttons and the pull-down menus visible.
