Suggestions on blind structure
We play a weekly NL tournament game. 5000 chips with 30 minute blind levels. Usually between 5 & 8 players (most ever was 14)
Blind levels are: 25-50, 50-100, 100-200, 200-400, 300-500, 500-1K, 1K-2K, 2K-4K, etc. Usually ends in about 3-1/2 hours. That's good time frame for us. My question is: is there a better blind structure? Wouldn't mind slowing them down a bit, but don't want to keep the game in the same 3-4 hour range. Your thoughts please. |

Re: Suggestions on blind structure
You might consider throwing in an ante bet at the 100-200 level of 25. Usually I start an ante around this level and I try to keep it between 1/3 - 1/6 of the SB.
I would have a 300-600 level instead of a 300-500. You might even want to plug a 400-800 level here too. 1.5K-3K could also be added. With only 25000-40000 chips in play, once the blinds get up to 2K-4K I would imagine the action only lasts a couple of hands. |

No, we've been doing 300-500 just to make it easier with chips worth 100, 500 and 1,000.

Re: Suggestions on blind structure
You'd have to drop the starting stack a grand or two, I think.
