If it is a home game and you don't completely trust the other players, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a cold deck, despite the flaming you get from this forum. The fact that he bet out on the flop with quads is a little weird.

There was a great story on RGP many years ago (maybe fictional, but I don't think so) about a similar situation. This guy was playing in a pretty big home game and went to take a leak. He comes back and first hand he picks up QQ, raises, and get reraised by the button. After just calling the reraise, flop comes KQQ. He checks, the button bets the pot, and he mucks without showing after thinking it over for a bit.

Four seconds of stunned silence pass and then another guy sputters: "How the [censored] can you muck quads?"

Once on my deal in a home game, we were playing omaha chigaco, so highest spade in the hole gets half the pot, highest hand gets half the pot.

I get dealt AKKQ With the Ace of Spades
Friend QQJJ with the Queen of spades

Flop KKQ with King of spades on the board

he is the chip leader and I am a close second, and I double up. I was so sure they would think it was a setup, but you know what, this [censored] happens.

I once flopped QQQ holding QK against AK and AA. Final board was QQQKK. It was sweet.

I've had quads flopped against me at least twice in the past two weeks. It was not sweet.

Please provide constructive criticism on the 3 examples I showed. I only play micro-NL and don't have a deep stack. I've also only been playing less than a year with 2.7BB/100.

For one thing, whats with the small bets? For instance you've got top set in hand 3 flop, obvious straight and flush draws on the board, and you're charging people a quarter in a 5 dollar pot? Whats with that?
