Later, at that casino. Random guy "So Adam, how'd you do at the WSOP again?"

Adam: "I told you. I spent it playing with Sam Farha."

Guy: "Did you beat him in a pot?"

Adam: "Yes! He asked me for my autograph and about my awesome poker skills."

Guy: "How'd you beat him?"

Adam: "A frickin' reraise. What do you think?"

I don't think he was actually crying, as there were no tears or anything like that which normally accompanies "crying". Either way, poker is poker and you can't win EVERY pot you're in. Plus he didn't bust, but still, he should take it a little better.

I didn't think the guy actually cried, after watching it twice. The first time, I thought there were tears, and I cracked up appropriately, but the second time, it looked like he was just crushed, and on the verge of tears but held them in. Which I give him a bit of credit for.

Also, when he says a couple times "I played perfect poker for 3 days" I took that to mean that he played what he *knew* was the best poker that he himself could play, not *perfect* in the cosmic unknown sense. In that sense, he was just expressing disgust/disappointment that he was able stay in line, make the moves he could find, and avoid the tempting pitfalls he knows he's susceptible to (like drawing to flushes at the wrong time) for 3 days and then perhaps virtually end his tournament with one moment of weakness/bad judgment. It's understandable to me why this would cause him to be so distraught. Although, if he continued to use this word over and over again after the fact in interviews, and if he is a jacker in general as others have chimed in, then yeah I agree it is a weak thing to say.

Still, my first impulse based on that 15 sec of TV is to cut him some slack; I also don't think he was hamming it up for cameras.

That was freaking classic. Huggy was next to Matusow with a look on his mug like "hey, I'm playing with the big boys! Yeah, baby" when the guy across the table pointed out how he had lost it earlier. His face absolutely dropped, like the guy had revealed some dark inner secret about rubber bedsheets. Classic.

(BTW, I think the guy that ratted him out was out of line, but I still enjoyed that facial expression.)

Given that details can be fudged by creative editing, it's difficult to know exactly what happened.

But here are my thoughts: If I've been playing well for 3 days and building my stack, giving myself a shot at 7.5 million in prize money, and in one hand I have the 2nd nuts and run into the nuts, for a significant amount of my chip stack, yes, I'm going to be pretty crushed.

I know he wasn't eliminated, but his reaction leads me to believe that the blow to his chip stack was significant enough to warrant some grieving.

I'd be happy as a pig in.....green sludge, if I won 250 grand or whatever. But, any moves up from that are significant as well, so I'd hate missing out.

Just like if you finish 2nd overall and 1st gets all the glory with the bracelet and twice as much prize money, you'd probably be a little upset there as well, even though 2nd place prize money against that large of a field is still freaking amazing.
