As to the question, my thought is that leaving the table is poor etiquette. But then I also think that it is poor etiquette to jump up and down, scream, yell at the dealer to give or not give a certain card, high-five 47 different people when you hit the river, bitch about donkeys drawing out on you, etc., etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good point, there are more important etiquette issues out there.

then she's lying. you can't implement tells properly all the time without odds. I recall Sklansky saying something similar to Negraneau, who made a similar claim as you said Harman did.

That's one reason she is a winning player. Lying is an integral part of the game.

I do remember seeing that at the 1998 ME, and that Scotty did end up making the wrong call and losing the hand. I think that it is a tell that the person is strong...remember how pretending not to be interested in a hand is a tell? Obviously walking away says that you're really not interested. So the guy's not worried about losing all his chips.

I don't see this hurting poker as long as it doesn't get out of control. Poker is still growing and I think more rules along these lines will come eventually, but it'd be pretty silly to be penalized 10 minutes for standing up during a hand.

At least they cut out smoking in many places, that pleases me the most and was a much bigger problem than this IMO.

Boo smoking, yay beer...and poker!

Indeed!

Unless they want you to think that they think that you think that they think that you think that they think they are strong.
