Re: Best Feeling in poker
I avoid using the term "nut straight" when there is a better hand possible.

Re: Best Feeling in poker
For me, without question, the best feeling in poker is coming all the way back after being stuck four racks. I've done this about four times, and it's better than winning.
I imagine that winning a tournament would be up there, but that hasn't come up. Honorable mention goes to making a razor-thin value bet. Making a big suck-out is also quite satisfying. |

Re: Best Feeling in poker

inevitable suckout
My friend raises UTG. Nearly the whole table calls. I am on the button with 23h and look at my friend who I can tell has a monster. I 3bet, he 4bets I cap. Everyone calls. Flop is A-high with 2 of my suit. Friend bets out, everyone calls, I raise he 3 bets, 5 ppl call. Turn blanks and the river is my beautiful heart to crack my friend's set of aces.

Re: Best Feeling in poker
Catching quads 3 hands in a row the second time I ever played Hold Em. Ameristar Casino, Kansas City. 9s 4s then Deuces. The table broke up after the third case.
That is fish luck, my friends. |

Re: Best Feeling in poker
I think theirs a lot of things that keep people playing.
* Flopping the nuts. * Checking your hole cards and seeing AA.(Especially when you think to yourself, C'mon Aces!" and PRESTO, THEY'RE THERE!) * Flopping a set with low pocket pairs in NL home game. (or really with any pocket pair for that matter). I think one of the coolest things is making quads or a Royal Flush. I've flopped quad Aces once, and have had one royal flush in a huge pot. Overall though, I think one of the best feelings is that of progression. Feeling you've gotten better then you were say a couple months ago, or even a week ago. Improving your game to win more $$ is always a good thing. Especially if you're playing home games, or tournaments and you're doing better each time making it further and further. It's rewarding knowing that you're practicum is paying off. |

Re: Best Feeling in poker
When your opponent open limps in LP with his pocket Aces, and you flop two pair with your 72o from the BB.

Re: Best Feeling in poker
When the lady next to you in a live game grabs your crotch and says "Nice pocket pair" That would be the best feeling.
