Default new-fangled sucky-ass tables

I hate the new tables I'm seeing around town lately (Vegas). You know, the ones that have the granite/marble borders near the rail - purportedly so you can stack your chips easier.

To me, poker tables should be felt all the way to the rail.

With the marble, you can't slide your cards all the way back and peek at them, you have to sit up, lean forward and protect them with two hands. Plus, you can't riffle chips on marble!

Who's with me?

Happy Birthday

At first I hated them too, but then I got used to them. I think I like them better now.

Agreed. Its the inability to slide the cards all the way to the edge of the table that bothers me most.

I don't like them either. There's a lip between the marble and felt, and when you slide your cards forward, sometimes they will catch and flip up

I played on these at the mgm and thought they were really nice. much easier to stack your chips and keep them neat. still plenty of felt in front to do whatever with cards/chips.

felt all the way to the rail makes for uneven stacks because it's never perfectly level.

If they're like the ones at Mandalay Bay which have wooden borders they are the best, my favorite. I like stacking chips easier and having chips away from playing area and also having more table room since the tables are usually larger with the border.
