Re: Folding a boat
That's a crazy way to play KQ. Villian c/r's the flop? Maybe if you are a fish, maniac, donk, habitual continuation better, maybe. But you did have 2 players behind you when you bet. Then he leads that weak with top 2 pair? You haven't really shown the strength of your hand yet, and he leads that little??

Re: Folding a boat
yeah, I guess I just buckled under the pressure, kicking myself badly now. Certainly won't be forgetting it in a hurry, so aj, you think that he certainly didn't have KQ, and in fact had me on a bluff?

Re: Folding a boat
I would think he would have K4 or K8 here before he would have KQ. Or 44? Maybe he somehow lucked into a flush on the end there? The flush is as unlikely as KQ, IMO.
The thing is...you are betting the whole way like you have a king in your hand. This would be a logical card that villian could put you on. And he doesn't mind pushing all-in on the river when another king comes, even though it is likely to him that it helps your hand?!? This tells me that he has trip kings beat. And villian either has a flush, 44, or a king high boat himself. If you take everything at face value. The c/r on the flop says that villian has something back there bigger than one pair. That means he has 44, K4, 48 or K8. If he had 44, isn't he doing something stronger on the turn then what he did: bet weak/call? Whereas, if he has K4 or K8, I could see him bet, then calling your pot sized bet. I can see you being beat here. I don't know if I could lay this down at the table. But, I don't think that it's an easy instacall either. |
