By the river you have a lot to worry about including a flush/straight, boat or even K with a better kicker.

I don't think there's anything to gain by betting your trips with bad kicker on the river. Check-call a reasonable amount.

why bet the river, Garland is a genius. you have trips that's it. flush could have been made from the flop, turn could have made a boat, river could have made a straight. buddy, check, call the bet. he probably would have bet small to entice a caller anyways. bad play.
