Default I Just Cold Called With JJ Preflop

Full Ring Tables With 3 or 4 Fishies

Two fish limp EP, Good tight-aggressive regular raises, I coldcall! from the SB with red Jacks, BB calls, the two fish call. Five to the flop for 10 small bets.

The flop is 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I check, BB checks, UTG fish (almost all-in) bets, second fish drops, Good TAG raises, I 3-bet, BB folds, fish calls all-in, Good TAG goes "FU your check/3-bet" and caps, I call. 3 to the turn for 10 big bets or so.

Turn is 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I check/fold.

Thoughts?

preflop= your giving up your edge for a favourable flop but by not raising all the fish are staying in and increasing the pot odds.
Flop= you get your good flop, no bet out? besides that you get great action.
Turn= good fold.
I think the only mistake was the no raise preflop because it allowed for these fish to come in for only one more bet, thus, building the pot and causing the stupid raises and reraises on the flop. I think you got to take what you can get with a medium pair like JJ, so I push when I can.

I don't see how this is a good fold. I'm at least seeing the river and reevaluating based on what falls there. Also, RERAISE with JJ preflop!!!

With JJ you really don't want to be 4-5 handed. Besides the fact that you have an equity edge, 3-betting will generally knock out the BB, and if one of the limpers folds you are in pretty good shape. Now, if you had TT or there were 1-2 more limpers, I could understand the play.

77-TT are all a possibility.

77-99 are very unlikely and TT is ahead of us.

Even if by some miracle we are ahead there are spade and overcard redraws galore. I like the whole hand.

Preflop: Cold calling from our position makes it much easier to protect favorable flops. Raising also bloats the pot which isn't really what we want based on the position and types of our opponents. I have no idea whether that makes up for the loss from not raising, but it is interesting at least.

I'm still deciding what if I like your line preflop. I love your flop line given your PF one, and I think that discretion is the better part of valor on the turn. Since the TAG knows that you know he's good and caps your check/3-bet, you know you're probably sorely beaten here.

Do you think a 3-bet PF would have made the hand easier, as we would be able to discern the TAG's hand better with the added info, as well as put some pressure on the loose limpers?

I don't like the coldcall if there is any way that the fish fold rather than call two more preflop.

Theres probably a good enough chance that the fish will fold to two. Like another poster said this play is probably correct with 99 or maybe TT.
