Default When To Post in Live NLHE rull ring

I was playing today and there was a debate about when to post. All the good players agreed waiting for the BB to come to you and posting the BB, then the SB, then getting the button is the worst of the options.

The debate was wether posting inbetween or behind the button was better. Posting inbetween gets you one more hand, but it is in terrible postion for the rest of the hand and the button passes you, but you don't have to post a SB that round. Posting behind lets you possibly get a free hand in late position without having to post a SB that round. The other option is coming in buying the button, which I none of us thought was best b/c you have to pay both SB and BB.

You don't have to post the SB if you come in before the BB? That's an odd rule, but if it's the case, the CO is by far the best spot to post in.

in live NL i will post anywhere because the the -EV is worth avoiding the boredom of sitting there.

In most cases the players are so bad that the EV of playing a few hands makes up for posting in MP.
