Default semi bluff raise with JT

Just sat down, so no reads. I was going to raise any turn, but the fact that I got a flush draw makes this play even more right IMO. Is this ok?

Thanks.

I think I would raise the flop and take it from there. I would hate to be 3bet on the turn in that small of a pot since you're not folding.

The turn is a pretty bad spot to throw a raise in because you open yourself to a 3-bet. You can't fold given your draws, but you don't have the equity to pump it.

I much prefer raising the flop, and taking the free card if its offered to you.

I agree, especially since you hand doesn't have much showdown value against this unknown, with all those other face cards out there. You are on a draw and unlikely to win unless it hits. Raising the turn buys you a free showdown when you would rather have a free card.

I would raise the flop and follow through on the turn against many players. Without a read, I think I'd take the free card.

The way you played it I think you should bluff the river. A lot of the hands that call you on the turn involve a lone diamond hoping to hit on the river. With the bloated pot, it will work enough to be +EV.

I don't like the turn raise. You're putting in 2 BB's to try to win 4 BB's.

And if villain has even a single diamond, he's calling your turn raise... thus, you have to plan on following thru with your bluff on the river too (which you didn't). And that's even more bets your pouring in to win this small pot.

First things first, you should have 3-bet preflop. The rest of the hand plays differently from there. You may have won with a simple flop bet .... or you could have easily earned a free turn card.

I like this response the best . Seriously though, there have been some mixed reviews. As to raising the flop, that seems like a perfectly fine play to me as well. Some people advocated taking a free card on the turn, but I think if we raise the flop, we gotta bet the turn, especially with the flush draw we pick up. Someone said 3-bet preflop... um, that doesnt seem right to me. Any other opinions on this hand?

I think your line is much better than raising the flop.
