if you play poker or gamble for a living sometimes it helps to "manufacture" a win streak. In a vacuum, yes it's all 1 long session but like I said if you do this for a living over an extend time span the less up and downs you experience, you'll be better off emotionally and psychologically.

I'm hardly a grizzled veteran and in my 20's and it's already worn on me. Taking swings for tens of thousands of dollars is not something a lot of sane people want to do.

Is going to a table doubling up then leaving considered to be manufacturing a win streak? If so, when is it no longer considered to be manufacturing?

If you need to manufacture a win streak in order to help you psychologically, then sure it won't kill you, but you should probably get a little mentally tougher. On the other hand, trying to manufature a winning streak when you feel in need of one can be costly because you allow yourself to sit in bad games with a bad frame of mind trying to get back to even.

If you join a table, double up, and leave, then maybe you're mising out on a great game when you quit.
