Default Party 15: Top Pair, 2nd Kicker gets checkraised twice.

Reads:

1. MP2 is an awful calling station. VPIP 49, PFR 0 over 60 hands. My observations confirm that he is horrible.

2. BB appears to be tight and aggro pre flop and moderately aggressive post flop. VPIP 22, PFR 9, AF 1.9/1.4/.9, 1200 hands.

Party 15/30 (7 handed)

Preflop: Jeff is CO with Kd, Qc.
2 folds, MP2 calls, Jeff raises, 2 folds, BB calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (6.66 SB) 6h, Qs, 9s (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Jeff bets, BB raises, MP2 calls, Jeff 3-bets, BB calls, MP2 calls.

Turn: (7.83 BB) 9d (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Jeff bets, BB raises, MP2 calls, Jeff calls.

River: (13.83 BB) 8c (3 players)
BB bets, MP2 calls, Jeff calls.

I put villian on either A9s or something like QJ. I can see him knowing he is outkicked with his Q, and seeing the turn card as an opportunity to bluff you off your better kicker in what APPEARS to be a protected pot. Whether I call down is based on whether I think the opponent is capable of this move. I'd have to be pretty sure though, so I'm most likely calling down.

I would only bet that turn if I can safely fold to BB's checkraise. That's a card that could hit either of your opponents. He's only moderately aggressive yet he's coming back for more after you raise preflop and 3-bet the flop. Plus the MP2 guy has a flush draw if you are lucky (and a 9 if you aren't) which further decreases the case for calling. Time to dump.

I agree with crafty veteran , that betting sequence usually comes from someone who's trying to build a pot they know the're going to win.

Thanks for the comments, guys. As I thought, I should have made an easy turn fold. BB showed 79 and MP2 showed 77.

You are probably beat by something like A9. Against this opponent you can probably fold to the turn check-raise. He may even have AQ.

I agree that he should fold but I think it's opponent specific. An unknown party monkey will show you an overplayed QJ, QT, Q3s, TT or 22 here too many times to fold.
