Eating 50 Hot Dogs Can\'t Be Healthy

ESPN has been showing Coney Island hot dog eating contests lately, where one asian record holder (Takeru Kobayashi) eats approximately 50 hot dogs in a very short period of time (maybe 2 minutes or so) in this annual event. Now I'm no doctor, but doesn't this seem more than a little dangerous?

Well, it's the fifth year in a row he's done it now, so if it hasn't killed him yet it's probably not bad for him.

He's also eaten 17.7 lbs of cow brains in 15 minutes. None of this is as impressive (or disgusting) as Oleg Zhornitskiy eating four 32-oz jars of mayonnaise in eight minutes.

I think the number is 44 hot dogs in 12 minutes. Still quite impressive, but not the threat of suffocation that 2 minutes seems to entail.

I'm just wondering if these contest eaters are drastically increasing their chances of developing intestinal problems, hemorrhiods, etc...

I watched this live at the Borg 2 weekends ago, we were cracking up at my table. Kobayashi 5 years ago was a little twig, now he has seriously bulked up, he has huge biceps.
Who was the little 1/2 asian hottie to his left for 1/2 the contest? She was WAY to cute to come in 2nd place... how did she fit all that sausage in her? TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
