To aggressive with A/K
Villian is the button and seems very passive with the few hands I have He is 29/1.54/.53 in about 70 hands.
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 5 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls. Flop: (6 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, Hero calls, Button raises, SB calls, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, SB calls, Hero calls. He limped preflop. What is God's name could he have? He HAS to have A/10 but even a passive raises with that from the button preflop 1st one in. Or is he just on a flush draw and picked this time to be aggressive? Turn: (9 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets, SB folds, Hero calls. I have to call here right? River: (11 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls. Last card can't be of any help to him so this is an easy call Final Pot: 13 BB Did I play the flop too aggressive? Should I have folded this at anytime considering the villians passivness. Thanks |

I play it the same. What other line would you consider?

Re: To aggressive with A/K
I figured he had 2 pair with the flop aggressivness. I was VERY sure he did. But I thought for sure he would try to steal the blinds if he had an A/10 so that's why I thought he may have a good ace or a flush draw or both.

Re: To aggressive with A/K
You're up against a set and can fold the turn. The villain is not capping the flop with anything less. The pot is laying you 10:1, but you'll have to call another bet on the river, which reduces your odds.
...and raise the flop, please!!! |

Re: To aggressive with A/K
I wasn't even thinking set because he didn't raise preflop. Okay. He may not raise with A/10 but SURELY he would raise with a PP?

33 or TT? Probably not with those stats.

Re: To aggressive with A/K
You said I was getting 10:1 odds on the turn and had to call other bet. That's essentially 5:1. Are you 80% certain you are beat here given the action?

Re: To aggressive with A/K
You're actually getting 5.5:1 effective odds to call down. Even if you're not drawing dead on the turn, you don't have your full 5 outs.

Re: To aggressive with A/K
I was jsut rounding the 5:1 but do you think I definently NEED the outs?
