Let him deposit half his money in an online poker account. 300 BBs and tell him to only play a certain limit. Give him a Sklansky starting hand chart and give him some simple adivice like "don't continue without at least top pair after the flop." Then gradually teach him more.
Then find out how he handles his eventual 150BB downswing. He'll either quit. Or he'll get good and by the time he's old enough to walk into a casino he will OWN! What's the big deal? You can't tell him to not gamble when he sees you doing it. It won't make sense to him (because it doesn't.) The one thing kids can't stand is a hypocrite. |
