home game
most of my friends dont know TD. I'd like to set up an home game to make them discover this wonderful game.
But I really don't want them to be broke or whatever, which could be the case not because I'm good but just because they don't know it at all. So I have to mix it with another game or 2. What would be your choices ? I thought a mix of limit holdem, triple draw and stud8 could be great. If I make blinds of 1/2 how much the ante should be ? When you have several games, do you prefer to have 1 round of each game or a dealer's choice approach ? Actually I never set up an Other Poker home game so every advice is greatly appreciated ! |

[/ QUOTE ] I like this mix a lot, but for a crowd that's not used to it, I think I'd stick with games with blinds and drop Stud8. I think Holdem, Omaha8, and TD would be a good mix. Hold'em because everybody knows how to play. O8 to introduce them to reading low hands. I guess that sort of sets up TD A-5 instead of 2-7 though. The blind structure is then standardized for all games. |
