I dunno, but I just saw it referencing one of my posted hands, and I can only assume it means, "Friggin' awful."

I'd be interested to know also.

Actually, I think it means fold with extreme prejudice? Maybe?

It means that you're not reading others replies before making your own comments about a hand. It was from a challenge a while back from a guy name Grunch.

grunch,....

grunch means that you replying to the post without reading the other replies. Many posters do this so they can give a fair opinion without being swayed by other posts. It also lets you know that, "hey, if I say 'fold preflop', like 30 others did, don't think I am an idiot.. "

On top of that, because he originally challenged newbies to respond to 5-posts a day, I use it in the context that I am not necessarily as knowledgeable as some of the other posters, so take my response and reasoning with a grain of salt.

"Grunch" is short for "Grunchcan" A character on the South African version of "Seasame Street" who is HIV positive to teach children about the dangers of the disease. He is physically similar to Oscar the Grouch, but is a much friendlier character.

Due to his odd looks Grunch Can became very popular on Two Plus Two, spawning a poster who took his name, and in the honor of the characters tendency to butt into conversations without listening, Posting after only reading the first post became known as "Grunching"
